alot of good memories of ZT... best of luck to him and I hope these concussion concerns dont affect him too much. Would love for him to be a coach of some sort with us.
Great player. Always came to play whether he won or lost the battle and he did lose some weeks. But Zach was a fiery engine to our defense that should never be forgotten. He made a ton of tackles and big plays.
A great 4-3 MLB. Not a 3-4 ILB. There is a difference.
I love the guy and hate that his career is at an end.
Tim, I have a feeling that a lot of ZT comparisons will be made to Pat Angerer. Their playing styles are very similar. Now let's hope that no one copies and pastes this regarding my prediction 2 years later.
That got me all choked up. It's sad to see such a great player go.... Tim thanks for the link, just think if we had those # of tackles coming from the Linebackers & not our safeties.
Zach was/is my favorite player to ever play the game. Total class act, hard worker... I'm glad that he got to retire a Dolphin.. at first his press conference was hard to watch, just to let it sink in that the player I loved to watch more than any player ever was saying goodbye. But it was good. I hope down the road after he takes some time off with his family that he gets back involved with football, he'd be an amazing coach, every bit of his success came from his knowledge of the game and linebacker position.
Zach was an absolute warrior & a stud. He embodied everything that is great about football & I believe he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Without a doubt one of my all time favorite Dolphins & if anyone ever deserved to win a SB it was Zach Thomas, Marino, & JT.
Nice 13kvFINS, you're right. He does seem to be glowing, he does seem light years more confident talking to the press now.....hopefully that confidence transfers to the locker room and field!
I am having such a hard time this off season. Like every year (but moreso this year than in recent years) I have this gut fealing that our team is going to be special....the reason I am having a hard time?.....the last time I had this fealing was before the Cam Cam year and we all know how that turned out. My mind and heart are at war...
Rock, this isn't the Cam year, not even close... If a few things go well early, like winning those early division games this team will take off. If the opposite happens it could be a frustrating season, but at least we'll know early.
Every time I think we're going to be solid & have a great season it backfires & when I think we're going to be horrible (when Saban first took over & when Sparano first took over) we have a good season. Therefore I'm confused too.
Nice touch done by the Dolphins to allow Zacks moment in the sun. It's nice to know that he will be remembered as a Dolphin for ever more just as all of us. You could tell he truely loved to play the game, and it wasn't about the money for him. As for the money end, I would be stupid to say the money wasn't important to him, it just wasn't the main thing.
He wanted so much to get a ring you could feel it in the presser. The Dolphins simply didn't have enough players that felt the way he did about playing. The hunger for that ring is what it takes to win it.
Do we have those players with that same hunger as Zack showed us on the team this year ? That my fellow bloggers is the real question...
Unrestricted free-agent QB JaMarcus Russell (Raiders) has gone to Arizona to working on losing weight before looking to sign with a team, sources told Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole. Russell currently weighs more than 300 pounds and is looking to lose at least 25 pounds before trying to sign. Russell has also decided not to do interviews with anyone at this time. Russell is expected to work on improving his mechanics that have been a struggle the last few seasons. "It's so bad that his mechanics are even completely screwed up," a source close to Russell said. "There's stuff they go over in high school that he hasn't worked on the past three years."

ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories Zach. A true dedicated pro and one of the best. Glad you retired a fin.

ReplyDeleteTryp,
ReplyDeleteHe's a true professional in every sense & I just hope his concussions don't become a life long concern.
It's definitely weird to see a guy who is a year younger than me retire.

HENNE seems to exhibit a whole nother level of confidence, & (I've alway's thought he was POISED),
but he's fricken GLOWING!!!
...best I've seen from Henne on or off the field ...if his attitude is representative of the rest of the team we could be in for a very good ride.
ReplyDeleteGREEEAAAATTTT STUFFFFFFF!!!

One thing you got going for you is the archive master is also an Iowa fan. LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay, I watched Zach's press conference and I admit I got teary eyed. He was my favorite Dolphin until he went to Dallas and then it was Ronnie Brown.
