Tin, I don't believe we will take a CB w/our first pick, but that DJ Moore can flat out play. He's not big, but he can play physical. Excellent tackler, good coverage and ball skills. Smart kid. I was hoping he would slide under the radar and might slip to the 2nd round, but people are starting to notice him.
ReplyDeleteKent, I've seen DJ Moore being taken by the Dolphins in several of the more popular mock drafts, especially in the ones done in 2008. I saw him play at the Gaylord's Music City Bowl (worst bowl name ever) against Boston College and he was fantastic until he got hurt. He pretty much carried that Vanderbilt team, no idea what they'll do next season.
ReplyDeleteI think he will give Malcolm Jenkins a run for his money in the draft.
I agree we probably won't take a CB, but I wouldn't be upset if we drafted him, especially if it was with the first 2nd round pick.
Tin, that's when I would like to take DJ(2nd rd), if we go that route. I watch him a lot, just looking for weaknesses and he's solid. He played well each week against quality competition. I've been meaning to tell you to dig up some film on him since you don't get to see the SEC much. I think we will go OL and front 7 on D early, but he would be a quality pick.
ReplyDeleteI've seen his highlight reel on youtube before NFLdraftparty got busted and then I watched the BC vs Vandy game. It's true, they don't like to show SEC games out here in California. I have to watch USC every week. It might have something to do with my cynical outlook on USC being media whores. Might also have something to do with why I pick on their linebackers.
ReplyDeleteI heard Jay Glazer talking Senior Bowl yesterday and he said besides teams and scouts looking at the talent in practice, most of the time it's NFL personnel people and coaches smoozing with each other looking for jobs. They don't pay much attention to the actual game.
ReplyDeleteFunny you should mention that because I actually noticed quite a bit of this going on in the background. There were several out of work coaches there including a lot of guys who were fired just days before. There were also a lot of college coaches there. Also, Omar went but barely reported any on-field stuff which makes me wonder if he wasn't maybe interviewing with ANOTHER paper in another market? Stranger things have happened. Did you know Armando used to work at the Palm Beach Post? I found an article of his on their website from about 15 years ago.
ReplyDeleteThat's what Jay Glazer was saying. He said the Senior Bowl is crazy and all kinds of stuff was going on. He said no one was watching the game and then he laughed.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Omar is trying to land a scouting job. LOL
Is Jay Glazer the owner of the Bucs or the unfortunate looking guy on ESPN?
ReplyDeleteThe unfortunate looking guy on ESPN. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's what I figured. I think I saw him as an extra in the 2nd Lord of the Rings movie...
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you've noticed this but female anchors/reporters in sports have been getting progressively hotter while their male counterparts have gotten progressively fatter, uglier, and less literate.
I have definitely noticed the hotter female anchors/reporters but they don't bring anything knowledgeable to the table. They are pure eye candy. I haven't noticed a new wave of fat ugly guys because it seems more and more athletes are getting those jobs.
