Shocking Turnover of Events

In an off-season plagued by off-the-field indiscretions and arrests, the Miami Dolphins have been making news of the bad kind for months, and this latest development is no exception.

According to an Associated Press report, Miami Dolphins Offensive Coordinator, Dan Henning, 68, was arrested on Tuesday night following a months-long investigation that detectives referred to simply as 'White-Gate'.

According to affidavits obtained exclusively by TCM.com, Henning is accused of 7 counts of disrupting an offense and 37 counts of calling a passing play when the situation clearly called for a running play.

Though Henning denies the accusation, his Head Coach, Tony 'The Stache' Soprano, offered little support when asked about the allegations.

"Well, to be honest, there were some times, you look back, and you wonder, why when we're running all over a team do we call a deep throw on a 3rd and 1.  At the time it all seemed like a blur, but once you look back on the season....you see some things....that way...."

Asked if the latest arrest will set back the team in the upcoming season, Soprano claimed it wouldn't since he had planned to call the games himself while letting Henning sit in random luxury boxes whilst telling tales of the 'old days' to VIP attendees.  Dolphins CEO, Mike Dee, confirmed that this was in fact a new marketing idea that he and team owner, Stephen Ross, came up with during spring meetings.  Dee stated that any NFL suspension of Henning was unlikely, since ineffective coordinators are a precious commodity in the NFL.

I must say I really like FinHeaven's salary cap information. Well done!

  5. the idea that any team would have two $10M wide receivers on it is bordering on the absurd.  I wanted VJ (insert joke here) for a long time but now that we have Marshall, what would be the point?

    Are you serious, Clark?

  7. I've often heard it said that more than a handful is a waste, so that "tidbit" (I think that spelling is right?) is just perfect.

  14. I don't know what an NLC is, but that picture is disturbing not only for the outifits and make-up but if you look closely enough you'll see that these guys are identical twins.....this is a bad nightmare/horror film waiting to happen...

Tin does use magic at times. For instance the other day I was on his site and was thinking about what to get for lunch. I got up to get something out of the printer and when I returned to my desk which is about 15 feet from the printer, there was a wonderful sandwich on my desk. Thanks, Tin!

  17. "<span>So in the interest of keeping things fun around here I thought we could throw out some fantasy news items (keep them NFL related, if not Dolphins related) a la <span>The Onion</span>.</span>"

It was only a spoof! It wasn't meant to be serious. There is, however, one coach in the league who might fantasise about this (Ryan) and more than one owner (Snyder, Davis and Jones)!

  18. Ditto to the ad-free appreciation. NLC = naked lesbian cheerleaders. They keep stalking ffr. He's trying to get a court order to keep them away!

After looking at the link that Knight has provided us with to Finheaven, I agree with UK that you need to step your game up.  Her shirt says "Go Deep."  That's simply outstanding. Now just follow that with a solid trouncing of the Jets & yep, that would be my idea of Finheaven.  LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  20. LOL, you're welcome!

  21. consider me duped....i think the author's name and links are what sold this.

  22. It was a real article, but the interested parties were the Seahawks and Skins and I just did a spot of editing. lol

  23. You have food in the printer ?  What brand printer do you have, mine doesn't do that.

  24. I hope this year Henning sticks with what's working in place of trying to be cute.  The coaching staff were responcable for a number of losses last year.  That includes Sparano.

Fang, I think this team has been experimenting in a lot of ways to see what guys can do and if they can handle certain situations. Sure there was some bad play calling but every teams has their moments. I think as this team becomes a better one on one team, they'll use more traditional plays.

After seeing the Wildcat for two years now I don't consider it trickery at all. It really is old school single wing football and it's a power formation with an unbalanced OL with some options. The only difference between it and other play action type plays is the snap goes to a player who can run and that happens to be a RB in our case. That's the trickery but once everyone realized that Ronnie takes the snap all the time, it's no longer a trick.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Knight, I agree they are still  trying to figure out what works any what does not.Year 3 will be the turning point for better or worst. We will see what happens

    ReplyDelete
  27. Soprano ""claimed"" Henning will sit in random luxury boxes whilst telling tales...
Don't see Soprano using the word "whilst"..

Damn TIN, you had me scared, saw the photo & thought we had a TCable incident!!

    B/C that picture scared me,
I just today realized your new format requires a click for the "entire story"..
Now I gotta go back to see what I missed :-P , I kinda thought the recent stories seemed empty *DONT_KNOW* ,
but thought it was cuz there's been minimal FINews, while relating more to the WC...

    ReplyDelete
  28. I have no problems with the WC, it was PW coming into the game that I thought broke the momentum of the offense.  He was so ineffective one would think they would have shelved him entering the game.  If I were a betting man my money would go to it happening again this year.  If it does I hope those oportunities go to TT and not PW.

    ReplyDelete
  29. With Ronnie Brown healthy I think we can expect a resurgence of the original wild cat with Henne remaining in the game but moving to a WR spot. The premise of the offense was to get the best players on the field at the same time. I agree with this philosophy and that is why putting PW in the game made little sense to me. He clearly wasn't one of the our best players. I don't buy the thought of him needed to get playing time, you do that during the pre-season. It's almost like saying we're going to give up this play so PW can get a little game time. There are no give away plays in the NFL especially for a Miami team that plays every game close.

Hey Knight, does that package at finheaven come with the T-shirt? Speaking of finheaven, there used to be a poster who went by the moniker finheavenblows. I haven't seen that name on any of the boards recently...

    ReplyDelete
  30. BTW Tin, that was a pretty bad photoshop job!  You shoulda stuck him with a female body and told us henning had a sex change operation in the off-season!

    ReplyDelete
  31. ...but you must have seen the full article in order to leave comments.... :-P

Patrick, I found finheaven awhile back doing a search for the salary cap. They did have it at one time. I'm not sure why it's down now but the place holder is quite nice.

I do remember seeing a finheavenblows name. LOL

  48. Why is Chris Simms being arrested even making the news?  Is it just because his Dad was a NY Giant?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Now I know how you feel with no one reading what you write!  lol  I said it yesterday, I think maybe on the last blog....the media has to fill all their 24/7 airtime/webpages with something so now things that used to be considered unimportant are making the news as 'filler'.

  50. I know, your spelling/typing is really bad!  ;)

  54. LOL, I like Canada, Canadians...I spent a LOT of time in Canada, mostly in Alberta back when I was a road warrior.  Longer ago than I care to think about.

Happy 4th to you and everyone!  I'm going camping with family and friends...WoooHoooo!!!!  I need some R&R, sunshine, laughter! :-D

    ReplyDelete
  55. Happy 4th to you too! Hope you aren't coming to FLA. it's been raining for days with no let up in sight. BTW, I was just cracking on the Canadians, I have a couple good friends from north of the border.

  57. Russel got busted for cough syrup!!?? Are you freaking kidding me? Is this news? Did he have 40 bottles of this magic codeine elixir? The cops and the media should be ashamed of themselves. This is the perfect example of what we were talking about the other day, the media is out of control, not to mention the cops. They staked out the guy's house because he had cough syrup? What a joke!

    ReplyDelete
  58. well that explains why he is so fat, all that syrup
