Well, Channing Crowder, you finally made it to the end of training camp - what are you going to do now? "Zzzzz"
Well, I expected as much, but don't get too comfortable. The practices will continue as the regular season creeps up on us, and we'll play a few practice games in between, but as of now you can go home and sleep in your own bed, play with your kids, listen to your wife fill you in on what you've missed for the last 3 weeks and what needs to be fixed around the house, etc. And once you've fixed the leaky faucet (or called a plumber) you can head out to Starbucks on the way back to practice, where you'll be happy that the late summer breezes have settled in.
While I won't end training camp with any judgments or analysis (the pre-season will bring that out), I will offer up BrianL's final day of shooting. It's too bad he won't be there next week as I'm sure that's when they'll start installing the really exotic stuff, not that I would show it to you guys anyway, but I'd like to have a look-see for myself. ;) Anyway, enjoy the photos, everyone, and a very special Tin's Fins thanks to all of you who contributed to the last 3 weeks of Tin's Fins. I hope to always keep this site as grass-roots and collaborative as possible (zoom forward 5 years when I've turned into Mike Florio....)

Stay tuned for the look-ahead to tomorrow's game!
Great job with the photos guys and great job Tin for giving us this forum.
ReplyDeleteTin, I was going through the roster last night and I came to the conclusion that there are 12 roster spots open counting the competition at kicker. One of them has to win the job so other than that, there are 11 job openings. I was able to come up with 42 locks. I'll send you my theory tonight and I thought it would be a good discussion for Monday after the 2nd preseason game.
I'd like to give a special shout out to Brain L - his pix have been a great supplement to all the narrative from various commentators and it helps us remote fans, trying to experience camp vicariolusly, to feel more like we've nearly been there. Nice job and nice contributions.
ReplyDeleteneed more coffee....i read that as "I came to the conclusion that there are
ReplyDelete12 players in the competition at kicker."
can u see all the photos on your end or are three of them broken links?
hip hip
ReplyDeletehip hip
ReplyDeleteI can see all the images.
ReplyDeleteHooray!
ReplyDeleteWithout wishing to appear sycophantic, I also second Knight's appreciation for Tin's blog. He stepped in when the SS was in meltdown and has built this into a nice little community, with mostly sane rational people posting and not the zoo the SS has spiraled into recently. Has the Herald axed Mando or something? Anyway, I hope this blog goes from strength to strength, even though I detected a hint of commercialism with some links to betting sites before? They appear to have gone now? Anyway, keep up the good work Tin - we appreciate it! :)
ReplyDeleteWhile there may be some subtle advertising now and then, I promise not to
ReplyDeletebash you on the head with it like Florio with Sprint. They must be paying
him millions....
As long as it doesn't have flashing lights/moving images. They bug me and make me shut pages down!
ReplyDeleteI can't promise I won't install a disco ball at some point, but the
ReplyDeleteadvertising won't be intrusive like that.
Three games in 10 days. It's going to be an interesting period seeing the roster take shape - the thing I want to see most in the games is the discipline returning. I'm avoiding the result and watching the next 2 match-ups the day after on NFL network at 6pm local time, but I'll miss the last one as I'm best man at a wedding that weekend. Then the real business starts. It's so close now I can almost taste it.
ReplyDeletegreat job? you said great job? did you not see the first fan pic of that hot piece of a_ _ in the jt jersey. i wouldnt call that a good job, i would call that a fan f-ingtastic job.
ReplyDeleteseriously tin, thanks for the effort, you do a great job with this blog
well technically since you're so many hours ahead over there, you can watch
ReplyDeletethe replay at the same time as the live action.......right? lol
ffr, yeah, I noticed her. That's 2x99 jerseys full of promise. Brian's best work was on an earlier post though (check this link)
ReplyDeletehttp://tinsfins.blogspot.com/2009/08/training-camp-day-12.html
can u believe Brian didn't expect me to post that one? I will always post
ReplyDeletephotos of the true Dolfans who brave the traffic, the sun, and the
volleyball shorts to show their support. Plus you can't see her face so
there's no need to get her permission ;)
uk,
ReplyDeleteif you are referring to the cheerleaders, didnt you see my post that i wanted to be a sharpie. dont worry, i dont miss cheerleader pics. it is just tin insist on wasting space with pics of football players and throwing me a bone now and then of a cheerleader
who needs her face, looks to me like we got her best 'ass'ets
ReplyDeletegot to say, the best part of that pic is no panty lines, and yeah whats it to you, i looked at it that close LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the props guys. The shots I took were only posted online here, consider yourselves elites, VIP's, etc... LOL
ReplyDeleteTin email me your header size and Ill create the same panaroma to fit, its getting painful watching you try to make it work 8-)
Tin, some weird things are going on with the blog. Are you adjusting stuff? The font changed on the top 'Tin's Fins', and it's like size 500. LOL
ReplyDeleteSorry ffr - it's all coming back now. I remember the sharpie comment. If you get her chained to your couch, say hello to your new lodger!
ReplyDeleteI'm just watching the last quarter of next year's SB .... the fins are up by 7 .....
ReplyDeleteThere is another "fan"pic but she wasnt wearing a jersey. She was however wearing a semi sheer maxi dress over very little else. When she turned certain ways lets just say the sun shined through. (insert panting dog icon here)
ReplyDeleteI tried to capture the essence, but wasnt 100% successful.
the problem is i suddenly can't access the editor or the blog....i think it
ReplyDeleteis 730 across..
can u tell me what lottery numbers play tonight (last night for you)?
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the fisherman's tale of the one that got away ..... :(
ReplyDeleteI'm worried it would make you rich and your blogging days would come to an end, so I'll have to decline this request. Unless you could win enough to buy Ross out? lol You could certainly buy a share .... everyone else has?
ReplyDeleteI can see the admin link in the Echo section, does that help you? The header may have expanded beyond the border and covered the links. Try right clicking in the header area and access the properties, you may have a link listed there to get back in.
ReplyDeletei think if i were rich i'd actually blog MORE...but I'd do it from my Aspen
ReplyDeleteski lodge instead of my Sacramento office cubicle.
Checking out for a few cold ones now - have a great weekend guys. Finger's crossed for another win on Saturday night and no more roster casualties or injuries. I gave the bookies a couple of click-throughs Tin, but the golf one has movement on it so it can go fish! lol
ReplyDeleteCheers
>:o :'( :'( :'( !!!!
ReplyDeleteAfter an 09 playoff return :-P :-$ :-D !!!!
Bring on the draft 8-) !!!
MY overanalization period is B/T Feb,and Sept!!
I TRYYYY to simply ENJOY the season otherwise!!!
When never is heard,a discouraging word(from me),and the sky's are not cloudy all day...
GO M I A M I D O L P H I N S !!!
Hey UK,I've been meaning to ask you..
ReplyDeleteAre MY references to that Boston based team offensive to you and your fellow Brits??
I could come-up w'something else,IF SO!!!
Just can't remember if the nrth wore blue or gray,(CRS)!!!
IF it's BLUE,that would work(cuz they wear blue),and that would likely be more appropriate anyway's..
Nrth vs South !!!
Can anyone tell me what's up with the funny colored helmets?
ReplyDeleteThe funny colored helmets are actually silks pulled over helmets that are used to identify certain players/positions. I tried to figure out the color to relationship of player and there didnt seem to be one. I saw multiple colors ranging from black to yellow during the last practice, it obviosly makes it easier for coaches to key in on a guy during the scrimmage. My guess is any player wearing a silk wasn't feeling to comfortable, regardless of color lol
ReplyDeleteThe offense and defense wear different coloured jerseys, but the Dolphins
ReplyDeletehelmets are all the same (white with Dolphins logo), so one side wears
helmet caps.
are you saying that on one play there were more than one color silk? That
ReplyDeleteseems confusing to me, but then again, I'm easily confused!
I did manage to fix the header though (still not happy with it, need to
photoshop something together eventually. Love the photo though, just need to
figure out a way to make the text stand out on top of it better)
UK, I didnt say the fish got away just didnt get her all the way in the boat.
ReplyDeleteNot entirely true Tin, take a look. Half the O-line are capless. But one player on the line is, theres got to be a connection, possible bubble players?
ReplyDeletehmm, you're right. I see blue, red, yellow and black in one photo, all on
ReplyDeleteoffense,. If you look closely you'll see the WRs are wearing red, the tight
ends are wearing yellow, running backs are wearing blue. I can't tell who
is in the black, might be Kowalewski.
couple of special teamers in orange caps...
ReplyDeleteTin what size do you currently have the photo in the header? I can take a crack at a design if you like.
ReplyDeleteBrian, I don't know if this is what everyone else sees, but for me, the
ReplyDeletefront page is perfect size, but when I click on an article, the header is
suddenly ten times bigger. I have scoured the html and can't figure it out
but it's hard to figure anything out when your browser only has limited
capability (example of my problems, it takes 5 minutes to load the SS page
and 10 minutes to load up twitter)
I think i currently have the photo at 900px across, which is perfect because
the frame is 1000px.
Yes the header is whacked on this page, Im guessing the html code didnt change across the board when you fixed it. I wouldn't sweat it since this page will slowly work its way into the books. Whats the hieght on the header pic, I want to keep it the same since it fits in the frame allowing for the orange border. 900 on the width, check.
ReplyDeleteI don't really know because I just set the width, and the editor altered the
ReplyDeleteheight, keeping the ratio the same.
I wish I had known about it earlier so I could've just reset the template,
but I didn't realize until about 5 hours of changes had been made...
ok, I gotta go to the State Fair, I will try to get a photo of something
ReplyDeletedeep-fried and gooey to share with everyone. Brian, thanks for your help
Polite is standing in the background and looks to have black on as well, I believe you are correct in that being Kowalewski.
ReplyDeleteNow youre getting to my area Civil war stuff. The North wore Blue the South wore buttercup :) Actually Northern troops wore grey also in some untis.
ReplyDeleteThe Southern Troops of the Army of Virginia wore rags. while the rest of the Southern boys from other States enjoyed full uniforms with shoes. Go figure.
So,the BLUE COATS it is!!! AFC East DOLPHINS.. Bluecoats.. Those gyz that wear Grn.. and the williams...
ReplyDeleteTHANX FANG !!
ReplyDeletePERSONALLY,I'd prefer the redhead in daisy-dukes..
ReplyDeleteThanks I couldn't figure it out
