Following my advice, the Dolphins have traded for veteran backup QB, Tyler Thigpen from the Chiefs for an undisclosed draft pick (my advice wasn't for Thigpen specifically, but to forgo free agent QBs in favor of trading for one). For someone of Thigpen's history I would guess it's a 5th, but keep in mind we also had an extra 6th and an extra 7th so it might have been a combo of two picks.
Being that our trading of Alleman and Ndukwe were also undisclosed, this could be a swap of compensation and calling it even. Based on that initial trade we probably had more than one extra 6th and 7th.
ReplyDeleteis this a GOOD thing????? And what the hell is he doing in that picture? Hmmmm never mind, I don't think I want to know. ;)
ReplyDeleteI still believe that first trade was for a 5th. But it is favorable odds
ReplyDeletethat we got Thigpen for zero downpayment.
Tin somehow finds bizarre pictures of players doing very college like things. LOL
ReplyDeleteI would say Thigpen was one of the top QBs available for trade, and one of
ReplyDeletethe more experienced, so yes it is a good thing, in MY opinion.
Oh, and in case you're blind, woman, he's humping a skeleton...
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeletewellllllllllll just so happens, I value your opinions, now your selection of pictures.....hmmmm that is a little shady. ;)
ReplyDeleteAgreed. The moment Ireland and Parcells found out about the probably diagnosis for Pennington they went to work. That's pretty impressive making a deal for a QB by Tuesday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI hope so!
ReplyDeleteI guess that's his girlfriend. We get them like that here and they want liposuction.
ReplyDeleteif spielmonkey was here, it would be second round pick
ReplyDeletedamn, good thing i will never sign with the fins
ReplyDeleteI just checked and KC didn't have another 7th to give, they only had one and gave it to us in this year's draft. So the worst we could have gotten for Ndukwe/Alleman was a 6th. That would have given us 10 total picks: 1st - 1, 2nd - 1, 3rd - 1, 4th - 1, 5th - 1, 6th - 3?, 7th - 2. Or we might have had 5th - 2, 6th - 2, 7th - 2.
ReplyDeleteIf we got Thigpen for a 6th (which is possible with Son-in Law Pioli handling the deal) then I'd say very well done. If Pennington is done done, then it's possible Thigpen would be extended through next year so we don't have to draft another QB. If Pennington isn't done, then they may offer him a two-year backup/mentoring role to tide him over till he retires, but I don't see the Dolphins giving Pennington a big longterm deal even if he does come back 100%.
eww gross
ReplyDeletemy bad, turns out Thigpen IS signed through 2010 as well, so we don't even have to worry about it.
ReplyDeleteThat's right about KC not having the 7th. I forgot that. So you're right it probably involves a 5th or 6th or a wash for Alleman and Ndukwe.
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteThe visual is just nasty. >:o
ReplyDeleteThigpen is a good signing for rthe Fins
ReplyDeleteThought earlier in the year the Patriots were going to sign him
When they were down to Brady and a rookie only
Other bloggers stated KC would never release him
Thank the Parcells "family" connection for this signing!
Of course, the second we trade for Thigpen, The Eagles release Garcia!
ReplyDeleteDid they really? LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't really care. Garcia is old and he'll just be more dink and dunk. Henne and Pat White should be the focus now.
Um, since I can't post on the SS, someone tell Berardino he's crazy to suggest Vinny Testaverde!
ReplyDeleteMost everyone already has! I thought he meant it as a joke myself. Do you think he was really serious?
ReplyDeleteI don't know, the way he reacted to Thigpen sort of implies he doesn't know
ReplyDeleteanything about football....
I think the Testeverde stuff was just the media being silly. Hey Mike even used the same skeleton picture that you used in his recent blog about the signing of Thigpen and he comments on it.
ReplyDelete(Not sure exactly what Thigpen is doing in this old picture we dug up on the Internet, but, hey, who doesn't have a few, uh, skeletons in their closet?)
I think that's a little bizarre for a newspaper to select that picture but anyway. LOL
oh let me, let me,let me,let me,let me,let me, please please tin pick me, let me tell him for you.
ReplyDeleteyeah in case you didnt get it, i think the guy is a complete tool
Also was confused by the line, "Give the Trifecta credit: Even in dire times, the men who run the Miami Dolphins' football operations are always looking to the future."
ReplyDeleteWhat does it have to do with the future? They needed to get a QB today, tonight at the latest. I think they were looking to the present.
Why is everyone confused about what he's doing in the picture?
ReplyDeleteYou think that's bad, I just tweeted at Armando Salguero...
ReplyDeleteFunny, he is using the same pic as you!
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on? You guys have really small avatars! ;)
tin,
ReplyDeletei see mike put up a new blog about thigpen and stole your pic from above. i am surprised he didnt just post a link to your site
Ewww, now THAT is disgusting.
ReplyDelete"So even though they could have signed a retread like Gus Frerrotte or Brian Griese or (my personal choice) Vinny Testaverde to hold down the fort behind Chad Henne while Chad the Second settles in as the replacement for the injured Chad Pennington, they did not do that."
ReplyDeleteherdfan, guess he was serious.
It's not the size of the avatar....?
ReplyDeleteAin't the first time, won't be the last. one of the papers put up the same
ReplyDeletevideo as me about 30 mins later too.
At least I got my blog up an hour before Berardino. I'm playing at football
speed, he's still playing at baseball speed.
Tinshaker:
ReplyDeleteCan you really not post at the SS any longer? I could always send Mike an email on your behalf. He has always promptly responded to the ones I send him! ;)

ReplyDelete"of course all we got all this information from tinshakers blog a few hours ago. my guess is that is where you swiped the skelton pic from

thought you deserved the credit. mikie may ban me from accusing him of stealing info but what the hell, i spend to much time on there as it is
Is that because you lift your top for him?
ReplyDeleteThanks ffr, but the picture is the first thing that comes up with a google
ReplyDeletesearch for thigpen. Now, if you wanted to give me credit for creating
google, then go right ahead!
So what you're saying is he's scratching his nuts, licking his fingers and spitting on his desk?
ReplyDeletemaybe that is why he doesnt like me, i keep lifting my top for him
ReplyDeleteok, you all have to check out this blog and some of the comments
ReplyDeletehttp://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/consumerblog/2009/09/green-sex-toy-parties-the-next-big-trend.html
If you created Goggle you probably wouldn't be blogging. You'd have too much time on your hands to do other awesome stuff. LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd you complain about the visual images my posts cause for you. I think we are even on this one!
ReplyDelete"If you created Goggle..."
ReplyDeleteThat's my problem, Knight, I created GOGGLE while the whole world wanted
GOOGLE!
LOL
ReplyDeleteTell me about it, I created Yeehaw and everyone else wanted Yahoo.
I have been invited to one. It's the new tupperware!
ReplyDeleteHow often do people throw out their sex toys and buy new ones?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to get back to you on that. :-[
ReplyDeleteI've heard about those. I know some friends who went to one. It's not my thing.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me of the time my great great grandpa created the 'dark' bulb.
ReplyDeleteIt was completely useless.
on the hour.....
ReplyDeleteLMFAO!!!!
ReplyDeleteMy uncle created the dull steak knife.
i throw mine out every 13-14 years. However in my case it is kind of like throwing the baby out with the bath water, the biach usually goes with the toys
ReplyDeleteMy grandma created 'Susher' before the big Sushi craze!
ReplyDelete(must be said out loud to be funny)
Truthfully, me either. Then again, I've never gone to one of the parties....
ReplyDeleteAll you have to do is watch a baseball game to see that visual.
ReplyDeleteThis all reminds me of one of my favorite business quotes from Gomez Addams: Invent something that you can make for a penny, sell for $100, and is habit forming! (I'm paraphrasing)
ReplyDeleteMy cousin's, father-in-law's great grandfather created square tires. He sold only 4.
ReplyDeleteWhen you say you throw yours out every 13-14 years, what exactly are you throwing out besides the woman? LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL, you win!
ReplyDeleteThe pet rock was a great idea in the 70s.
ReplyDeleteknight,
ReplyDeleteyou really need me to make a list of the sex toys we used LOL
I like how Tyler doesnt stare down his receivers. He checks option 1, then 2, etc. Thats a good trait to have.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that he survived 2008 physically behind what was probably
ReplyDeleteone of the bottom 3 o-lines in the league.
LOL
ReplyDeleteHey we had to have some fun with everything that is going on with our beloved Phins. I still think some good times are ahead but its difficult right now.
I'll pass. LOL
ReplyDeleteThigpen is a solid backup or #3 QB. I don't expect him to ever be a regular starter but he could help us.
ReplyDeletetin, who do you think is going to be used in the spread offense now? thigpen or white
ReplyDeleteNeither.
ReplyDeleteI'd say we'll see some more spread with White as the season progresses. Henne will get 75-80% of the snaps but we will see some more White and Wildcat now.
ReplyDeleteIf we run on average 60 plays per game and right now our average is 65.3 because of the Colts game, I could see this kind of breakdown.
Henne - 45
Brown - 8
White - 7
Right now we're averaging 34 rushes and 31.3 pass attempts per game. We need to keep that up if we can. It should payoff at some point.
GREAT pk-up for the occasion !!! WAYYY TO GO TriTuna !!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! It was a smart move. Some fans are mocking it but who did they think we'd get, Drew Brees? LOL
ReplyDelete
