We played a good solid game. We're just a playmaker or two shy of being able to win games like that. Vontae Davis is going to be a good one.

  4. Knight - do you like my new avatar? Who needs a 5" height advantage?

UK, well done. Vontae is the real deal.

  6. I agree. I was quite excited watching that game yesterday about a lot of things. I never thought we would win without a lot of things going absolutely our way, but we came close. More upgrades and we are going to become quite a headache for a lot of teams.

  7. If we hadn't dropped the ball (I lost count, I'll just guess 8?) times we
    would've won.

  8. My feed kept buffering in the first half so I missed a lot of plays ..... I only saw 7 drops ;) :-D

  9. I watched the Man U game, what a bummer!
I'm not sure why they didn't call off-side on Drogba but they did on Rooney
earlier on. I thought both were clear mis-calls.

  10. Apart from my home-town minor-league soccer team coming back from 0-3 at the half to tie at 3-3 at full time, it was a complete wash for me sportswise. England lost their rugby union match against the old enemy, Australia, and Utd and the Fins both lost huge games. The Chelsea loss felt a lot like the Colts game to me - we dominated them and couldn't seal the deal. I was really pleased with how we played, but sick about the result. There were some good things in the Fins game too - just not enough.

    I hear ya. That's frustrating. >:o

  12. yeah, exactly. I wouldn't say Man U dominated Chelsea though, we barely got
any shots on goal, other than Carrick and Giggs repeatedly kicking it into
the stands. Rooney was the only threat to score really.
As bad as the weekend was sports-wise (my college team had a BYE, and I
somehow managed to lose my NFL Fantasy game) nothing compares to my current
Monday morning work blues. Damn I hate Mondays!

  13. Dominated? Nah (unless you put your red glasses on?)
    Here are the stats:
    Ch Utd
    Possession 51% 49%
    Shots on target 9 10
    Shots off target 3 11
    Corners 0 7
    Fouls 13 15
We OWNED Chelsea on corners and shots off target LMFAO!
The Boomtown Rats summed that Monday feeling up best ...... at least I'm home now!

  14. I don't recall seeing 10 shots on target in that game combined much less by
    one team.

  16. Missed catches cost the game,I agree!!  Juuussst Miiisssinnnggg one play hear and there vs the elite!!
Lost by 7 @(NE coming off 2 wks prep),the FG was garbage pts b/c of desperation, and missed receptions...

Luv Teddy, but don't know how he missed that last one for a 1st down on the attempted tying drive??
That was an uncontested easy one,no defender on top of him, just him and the ball!!
    Luv'YA TG,it'll come to ya,absorb the ball,tips of thumbs,and index fingers touching,tip of ball in remaining hole!!(Quit swattin @ it)like you have 2 left hands(it's not a wasp),BALLLLL GOOOOOD,ball your friend,ball like Teddy!!

YOUNG CHenne (10 yr francise QB to be) played GREAT,cept for the brain-fart time-out,(lesson learned)!!
Threading needels to the extreme(ala 13),kids got nadds, intelligence, leadership, poise, and ALL THE TOOLS!!!

OK people,we'll only be sad 2 more time's @ the most the rest of the way!!
We play the way we've been playin vs the elite,
we should roll over the average to less than average,of which 6 remain on the schedule!!

I have us finishing 2 games up on those we swept(only need to be even),and even w'NE(IF Indy gets'em Sun)!!
I have us running the table,(IFFF we continue playin as we have),but 6 or 7 W's MIGHT get the W/C job done!!
I have NE losing @ Indy, NO, Mia,and those we swept losing to NE, Atl, Indy !!

    We're 2 games behind the current 5 Pitt (go Den),and 6 seed's , 1 gm behind 7,8,9,(10 who we SWEPT)
w'lotsa ball to go,oughta be interesting till wk 17!!

Personally,I'm NOT SADD @all,we're playin some GREAT football vs elite football teams!!
The light @ the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter every wk!!
The remainder of the yr IS going to be impressive, and WILL advance us to elite status for o10,
w'the offseason addition of a FA or day one CAN'T MISS #1 WR !! I'll take an early NT too !!

    WE'LL BE AT 500. IN TEN DAYS,ahead of those we swept , GO     D      O      L      P      H      I      N       S    !!!!

  17. Tin, are there any potential #1 recievers coming out this year?  I don't follow college ball and my buddy is telling me pickings are very slim this year.

  18. WRs are going to be out there, no need to worry about skill players they come around every year in FA, and there are always players we could get with a trade A.Boulden comes to mind.  I agree with your thought process though getting a WR in the draft would be nice.  Although we need more help in the middle of the field on defense also.  ILB, NT and Safties come to mind.  I think we have the QB issue solved if Henne continues to improve and he looked good to me this week and so far this year.

I think the Dolphins are almost to the point of having solid players in the starting roles, along with more depth.  If someone can step forward in a few key positions, the mistakes this team makes that costs us games will be much lower.

If we look at the game this week all those dropped passes really hurt, as did the lack of pressure on the QB.  The falure of our LBs and WRs to do their job is killing this teams chances of winning and that is the reason we are 3 and 5 instead of 5 and 3.  The Dolphins can't overcome all the mistakes they have been making, on the field or on the sidelines at this time because of the inexperience and the lack of production from some seasoned (old overthehill) veterans.

I see good things in the future for this team I hope I live long inough to see it.  :)

  19. Rockphin - not true, there are several WRs I would be happy to draft in
    2010.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Well, we all know the draft is a crap shoot.  Some guys take 2 years to develope, some like Percey Harven make immediate impacts. (or Michael Crabtree. The guy sits out all off season / and into the preseason and then makes takes off right away.) I just hope we can find a true #1 (or hell maybe 2 true #1's LOL) and have our young guys (Turner & Hartline) step it up. We NEED to open up the pass game in order to keep running, and our running backs are only getting older.

I would hate for us to take a couple of more years getting the passing game clicking only to have our running game decline because our studs get old.

I want to win freaking NOW!
