While I was watching the video above I saw a wide receiver doing drills, lined up in front of Brandon London. I actually thought to myself, "Whoa, who's that? Who's number 19?"
It only took a good 3-mississippi count before I went "Duh!" and then another 3-mississippi count before I thought, "whoa!"
Ted Ginn looks like he's changed his body-frame overnight. Or is it just me? I'm not saying he's huge but he looks thicker, especially in the legs. He just looks stronger.
Some of the inside linebackers look like they need a kick in the pants. Orion Martin was the only back-up who seemed to have any energy. Torbor, Folsom, etc look defeated.

Is it just me or does Roth look fat?
ReplyDeleteI thought Ginn looked bigger in an interview from OTAs a few weeks ago. I'm sure the off-season conditioning program benefits everyone. Sparano has said a few times Ginn has been really impressive. Maybe Ginn is putting it all together this year.

ReplyDeleteI noticed that in a video from a couple of weeks ago, but everyone says he lost weight.
ReplyDeleteOn the flip-side, for the second video in a row, Soliai did not look over-weight to me. Merling on the other hand....maybe they switched numbers? lol
Old man Ferguson looks to be in great shape though.

Soliai was a little twitchy in that snap drill, but didn't cross the LOS...I hope this means he's gonna be more explosive this year.
ReplyDeleteHe also DID NOT look fat to me (for a NT anyway).
Ginn ran the best route of the recievers in that drill, with Bess second. A couple of those guys (at least one had to be one of our rookies) took about 4 tiny steps to plant and cut, that's too much noise...ginn and Bess and Camarillo all had considerably cleaner cuts.
Was that RW I saw hitting the dummy w/ the fullbacks? hmm...more two back stuff with both in the backfield perhaps?
OmarKelly: Paul Soliai had a pretty good practice during Friday's morning session. Good penetration and deflected a throw.
ReplyDeleteNice footage Tin, thanks.
I saw ricky, and ronnie hitting the dummy...
ReplyDeleteWhens the deadline for PWs potential/HOPEFUL # change??
ReplyDeleteA #3 QB doesn't have to be designated,(does it)??
IF PW gets a WR/QB #,and is carried as a WR on game-day,he can play QB @ anytime during the game,(as well as CH as the #2).. (correct)??
IF he doesn't,then either PW or CH can't be used till the 4th!!
I don't understand why he's not already in the teens,UNLESS they just don't want to give the opposition any advanced notice on how to prepare for such a possibility...
IMHO,it doesn't make sense, not to be able to use"OUR"weapons to our discretion, whenever the need may arise...
Though CH isn't likely to play until the 4th of a blow-out,or(CP inj)anyways,I DON'T LIKE the idea of"o10s starter"having his confidence stripped by designating him as the #3...The ONLY positive in that scenario,is the extra game-day roster spot, which is a good thing for 09,but could set back CH's o10"IT"factor..
I doubt PW is made available for ONLY the 4th qtr!!
Yes tin, it's just you. LOL how can you tell with the baggy clothes he's wearing? and what are those things on his upper calfs? Look like knee pads that have slid down. I certainly hope that what Coach says is true and he is getting his S**t down and will be running tight routes this year>
ReplyDeleteahh..I looked for RB but didn't see him...must be slippin in my old age.
ReplyDeleteKV...I know longer can keep track of my sources, but I read recently he's going to be number 16.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right...if he's listed as a WR, he can play QB at anytime without the emergency QB issues arising. Pat Kirwan fielded this question on a Sirius call and said it's a non issue. He didn't elaborate much on that though.
Know=no.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a good public university education. :-)
The numbers are designated 'officially' after the roster is cut down to 53 players.
ReplyDeleteA # 3 QB DOES have to be designated. He can either be inactive ala John Beck last year or an active player as Pat White will presumably be this year.
My understanding is that if all three are active, they can sub in and out as they please with no restrictions.
The rub comes in only if the #3 guy is inactive. Then if he comes in, the other guys have to leave the game.
Of course, if Pat White changes his number, then it doesn't matter at all because he can active for every game.
The easiest way to do it without sacrificing a roster spot would be the make Henne the emergency inactive. Might hurt his ego, but it is the most obvious thing to do.
<span style="">"The rub comes in only if the #3 guy is inactive. Then if he comes in, the other guys have to leave the game."</span>
ReplyDelete<span style="">Only before the start of the 4th quarter. This is what my next article was going to be about. </span>
It's all about the inactive "emergency QB". Anyone who is on the active 45 man roster can play QB except for lineman and linebackers.
ReplyDeleteAs much as it pains me to post Jets links here, I thought this blog entry was fantastic: http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/jets/2009/06/jets-minicamp-concludes.html
ReplyDeleteI also now REALLY see what a bunch of hot air Rex Ryan is.
YEA,but does their HAVE TO BE a designated #3"Emergency QB"listed?? (Cuz that wouldn't be good for CHs #2 status)!!
ReplyDeleteJust change the number already,DAMMITT!! PSINMEOFFFF!!
THANX for the input JD,and K NIGHT!!
JD,you may have read it courtesy of this host who posted the rumor several days ago!!
ReplyDeleteI figured the moment we drafted him,he'd be given a"VERSATILE"number,in favorable regards to gameday team options/flexibility/predictability..
What happened to the code words??
ReplyDeleteLeaving cheese out draws rats..LOL!!
Can you summarize?? Too many words!!
