Before they even Drew up a play...

Davon Drew, the newest Miami Dolphin, has been waived/injured. This puts the Dolphins down to 52 players.

If I were to wager a guess I'd expect a lineman is in the near future...

Maybe looking towards 2010 I see. LOL

I think the BPA available is the best way to go now. Is there really a specific position available that will make the difference? Maybe OL but what are we talking about here? If we can find a guy who can play T/G maybe. Maybe a ILB or DB. I don't see NTs falling from trees. LOL

So you think it'll be Matt Jones?

  8. What??? Considering how effusive Sparano was in his praise of Drew this is pretty odd. Drew probably got hurt when he was flying coach from Baltimore. The leg space is just not what it used to be & I'm only 6' tall. LOL!

  9. Tins,

Not sure if you're kidding or not. I think Matt Jones is a pretty good player but even though this might be Parcells' last year in Miami, he's still around & he doesn't like "druggies" as he calls them.

  10.
Matt Ryan misses practice with an illness

As it turns out, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre might not be the only high-profile player with swine flu and/or polio. [Editor's note: We are not reporting or suggesting that Favre has swine flu and/or polio. It's a running reference to Favre's apparent effort to incorporate in advance of his 19th NFL season as many excuses as possible, in the event he plays at the start of 2009 like he did at the end of 2008.]

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan missed practice Monday with an unspecified illness, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Specifically, Ryan was sent home after showing up at the team facility.

"He wasn't feeling well today," coach Mike Smith said of Ryan.

It's highly unlikely that Ryan will miss more practice time and/or the Week One game against the Dolphins. But until Ryan is back, we can't rule out swine flu.

    Or polio.

I'm not a Matt Jones fan.

  12. This would have had to have happened post-physical IMO, otherwise no need to
    waive him injured...

  13. I was speaking in jest. But Knight said BPA and I think Jones is one of
them and also is a missing link in our offense. That said, I'm not signing
any petitions for him or anything.
