Michael Vick to the Dolphins!

Yeah right!

But Dennis Green thinks so. The former NFL head coach now coaching in the UFL, if sitting around in an office waiting to see if this thing actually happens can be called coaching, recently said as much in a radio interview.

“I have a hard time believing that Michael Vick is not going to wind up with Bill Parcells,” Green said, “simply because he has that creativeness that says that no matter what it takes, he’s going to find a way to get Michael Vick. Now, whether it means convincing the Commissioner or whatever it takes, Michael Vick is probably going to wind up at Miami because of the fact that Bill Parcells is Bill Parcells.”

Look out Pat White, you may be out of a job sooner than later if Green's prophecy comes true. As absurd as it sounds, it wouldn't be the first time the Trifecta pulled a rabbit out of their hat. The last time was actually drafting Pat White, but there have been many surprises in Parcells' career.

There is of course a huge problem with this story. It came out of Green's mouth, and it came out on Sirius Radio. Between Sirius and the UFL, I wouldn't expect a lot of accountability considering both may be out of business in 6 months. Of course the biggest head scratcher of all is why Green would even suggest Vick would be going back to the NFL when he could be promoting the UFL as a suggested landing spot for Vick. Considering most people have never even heard of the UFL, it's really poor ambassadorship to go on a national radio show and talk about the NFL.

Dennis Green comes across as intelligent when he doesn't talk.

  2. Tin, it's a slow day when you are printing quotes from Dennis Green, LOL. Dennis is a one man show at killing a team. Thank goodness he didn't land in Miami as some rumored years ago.

  3. No, no, no, the rumour was that a big fat black man from Minnesota was going
to take the helm of the Miami Dolphins...that did actually come true...

  4. I'm going to have to come here for more Fin Fan Football talk.  All I've been reading on SS and the others is about ownership and judges.

    Thanks Tin!

  5. very welcome, Diggs. I tend to gloss over the business stories. I get
enough of that stuff in 'real life'.

Vick will not play this year. Part of Roger Goodell's strict behavior policy. I heard it today on the radio. He wants Vick to show remorse and obviously he hasn't done enough. He's considered suspended indefinitely along with Stallworth and the word on the street is that Burress is headed there too.

  7. Good, Goodell has been way to slow in his actions in dealing with people that taint the image of the NFL.  I don't expect players to be role models for America, but I do think that there are rules that players should follow to get paid well for the honor to play a game for a living.  If it were not for the NFL many of these guys would be laying concrete or flipping hamburger for a living.  The least they could do is to stay out of trouble while representing a team, the NFL, and the fans that pay there wages.

  8. I hope this is all rumors.  Not because of Vicks problems with the dog stuff, although that doesn't help him my eyes.  Mostly because I don't like him he has to many issues not only off the field but on it also.  Didn't he flip off his own fans after one of his normally lousy passing performances a few years ago.  Why bring in a guy like him when we drafted his clone in PW ?  This makes no sense.  I guess he is who we thought he was.

Pacman set the tone. He pushed the envelope right through the NFL building. Goodell is setting the tone for the future. You want to play in the NFL, be a model citizen. End of story.

Vick makes no sense for the Dolphins. Parcells doesn't like celebrity QBs and Vick is that, a media circus and a distraction.

    Two days before game day:
"Michael do you think differently about dogs now? Umm... I like dogs but I'm really focused on the game. Are you still involved in dog fighting? Umm... no, I'm really focused on the game plan.

No way Parcells brings that to Miami. Like Tin said, Green should be trying to promote the UFL and get Vick so they can both get their chops back and win before the league collapses. LOL

  11. NO,NO,NO,NO!! DO NOT BRING VICK INTO MIAMI! Sure he was a great athlete, but he IS NOT a quarterback.  His scramble around looking for an open guy, too dumb to read a defense, run for it style of play is not a fit here. Please O Please football gods do not let this happen!!

Consider the source   Vick is not coming to play for Miaimi
However do not count out PLAX
Reality PLAX brought a gun to protect himself
PLAX accidently shot himself   Gulilty of not registering firearm
Guilty of stupidity   Did notkill/hurt people or animals
X-Giant with Parcells  Bookend PLAX w/ Turner  add Ginn. Camarillo, SIMPLY THE BESS  and Armstrong     Pennington leading the team   Spread Offense  Hard to miss 6.7 PLAX and 6.5  Turner Look out for MIAMI

I heard that Plax is headed to the suspended indefinitely category and will not play this year.

  15. "Did not kill/hurt people or animals"
What if Paris Hilton's chihuahua had been cuddling up on Plax's leg in that
club. Then a whole different set of rules apply. The fact is that having a
loaded unregistered/unlicensed weapon inside a NYC club with the safety off
constitutes all kinds of legal issues: felony gun charges, negligence,
reasonable opportunity to cause harm. Not to mention he may have bribed
club security to let him bring in the gun or to not search him. The fact
that he didn't kill anyone was purely luck of the 'draw'.
The bigger issue is that Plaxico doesn't like to participate in team
activities/practices/meetings/etc. There's no way Parcells would touch him.

Also heard there is no way Parcells takes TO
Also heard there is no way Parcells takes Taylor
Also heard there is no way Parcells drafts Pat White

Parcells can get PLAX to play TEAM football
How many WR don`t act like Prima Donnas?

    never under estimate the TUNA
Fact is, NOBODY knows what Parcells will ever do

U don`t think PLAX would play for the Dolphins and play Parcells way
    THINK U R WRONG

THINK IT WOULD BE AN HONOR FOR PLAX

    Players union baby

U cannot suspend PLAX til after plea agreement or sentencing

    Isn`t that right TIN?

  18. Hey Home what's up good to see you here so I can disagree with you 8-) .  I don't think Plex ever played for a Parcells team, wasn't he drafted by the Steelers, then moved over to the Giants ?  I think BP was gone when the Giants aquired Plex.  Not only that but Plex is a head case, on and off the field.

I don't care who the players are really.  When it comes down to it does that really matter if the Dolphins make the playoffs again ?  I don't think so.  I only want to see the ("dumbest looking Logo" A Dolphin with helmit on it) playing in the Post Season.  The names on the jerseys mean nothing.

All Davis had it right with his mantra, " Just win Baby !!! "

    ReplyDelete
  19. PLax doesn't even understand the concept of HONOR.
You are right that Parcells can pull all kinds of surprises, but this is
moot as Plax will not be allowed to play in 2009 anyway.

Parcells didn't want T.O., he was forced on him by Jerry Jones.

Taylor and White aren't bad character players. Not sure what the comparison is here.

Parcells left the Giants after the 1990 season. Plax was drafted 10 years later. LOL

3 years probation and new spokesperson for the importance of gun saftey, gun laws and anti-gang message would be fitting for first time offense dum dum

Randy Moss was the biggest prima donna jerk in football
    Quitting on plays,sulking, pot arrests

Look what Bellicheat did with him
23 TDs ( i THINK)  IN ONE SEASON LOVED BY ALL

  23. No, Goodell can suspend anyone he likes at any time. He is the
commissioner. That's what commissioners do. Where the union comes in is
usually regarding wages and dealing with the teams, but they do not
    supersede the league's policies/administration. Plaxico's sentencing has
no bearing on what Goodell can do.
It might be different if a player was accused of doing something and was
awaiting trial (think Matt Jones), but there's no unmitigated circumstances
here, the dude did what he was arrested for and he has the scar tissue to
    prove it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Randy Moss is NOT loved by all. You really are smoking too much, HOME.
And for the record, Moss still gives up on plays all the time and sulks
around if he's not getting the ball thrown to him. It's well documented
that Moss and Welker don't get along for that very reason.

However he is the master of deception and very hard to read

Part of his success   U cannot read him or assume what he will do

    Not a smoker
Am  a Homer  but love most all NFL games and premium players

Loved by all in New England
Can not argue with beautiful success
All very good receivers want the ball all the time,  Some are just more vocal and confident  ( was it 23 TDs in one season Tin)

But like Welkers demeanor and tough guy 5.8 style
One of biggest mistakes in current years letting him go

Both Vick and Plax will not play in 2009.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes I do. He's not going to want to delay too much and also 2009 is pretty
much a wash at this point since Plax is tied up in court and also hasn't
been in camp with any team. The fast Goodell takes action, the faster
Burress could get back on the field.

And on a completly different subject,
NOWAYYY 270# TE Haynos doesn't make the 53,(if for no other reason than short yrdg run blocking)!!!
    Wilfords 220#s,Fasano/Martin CAN'T effectivly run-block...  JMO!!!!
     GO JHaynos!!

  35. ...don't count Vick out of Parcels plans ...Vick won't play in the NFL THIS year but he will be eligible next year ...just about the time Parcels has decided whether or not he can build a new NFL offense around A PW/MV type QB ...goodby Penne/Henne, hello White/Vick

...yeah, it sounds crazy but I think that's what Parcels is up to ...and if it works, he won't give a rat's ass about Vick's dog days ...only if he can still play well enough to bu White in the new Parcels offense which shall remain unnamed for the moment for obvious reasons :)

...as to Haynos, he's a victim of the numbers game ...if he doesn't win a starting TE position, they may not have a bu slot in the 53 ...and its all up in the air right now because of Wilford's conversion ...if Sparano makes that work with pads on, Haynos is going to have a real battle on his hands ...imnsho.

  36. "shall remain unnamed for the moment for obvious reasons"

because they haven't come up with a name yet?  LOL, jk.

Surely for Vick the nickname would be the 'Pit-Bull' or the 'Wild-Dog'.
