Itchy Trigger Finger

There are just twelve days to go till the start of training camp and the Dolphins are still over the limit on players. They currently have 82 on the roster but need to get down below 80 by the opening of camp. If you look on the sidebar to the right, you'll notice I haven't updated the roster since June 15th. I haven't had to. But I'm going to have to soon, because the Dolphins are going to have to make those cuts. And soon.

So who do you think it will be? Check out the new poll in the sidebar to have a guess.

  1. LOL, is SirVincent Rogers his real name?

In any case, I believe both Ernest Wilford and Brennan Marion will be gone. There is a glut at the WR position, so I doubt Brennan will be able to work his way up the depth chart. Camp fodder.

  2. That is the shortened version of his name.

  3. ...can't be camp fodder if you don't make it to camp ;)

...I'd be shocked if Wilford was cut before camp, they've invested too much time and effort in his conversion to TE and ota reports were positive ...they are almost certainly going to give him a chance to show what he can do in pads as a blocking TE ...if he can't do the job, THEN he gets cut ...I do agree that he won't make the roster as a WR.

...I think they'll cut a db and an an olb to get to 80 ...they are loaded with talent at both positions ...no OL or DL go before camp ...maybe a WR but they need targets for three QBs to be throwing to during camp ...every other position has needs and they'll want a full look at every possibility in pads before making any further cuts.

...and no, I'm not naming names, just where I think the extra bodies will be found.

  4. Ok, so I taught everyone a lesson about naming names, funny ha ha :) That being said I'd say it's going to be a couple of guys in camp they don't like ;) .

  5. Lemus, you are looking much better than usual, did you lose weight or something? You do look a little suprised though. LOL

Fang, I disagree with on your statement that "it's going to be a couple of guys in camp they don't like" I think If they didn't like any of these guys they would already be gone. They have some tough decisions to make.

Here are my two cuts this week. Anthony Kimble, Jared Bronson

  6. Tin, Why isn't A. Kimble on your poll?

I have to agree with Rockphin. It will be Anthony Kimble and Jared Bronson. The Dolphins just have so many players at those positions and seem to be set at both.

  9. Well, They may not be "Set" at both, but for THIS YEAR I think we stay pat at both. Age and FA are concerns for both positions in '10 & '11. We will definatly need some of the younger guys to show their worth this year or we will be looking to fill these slots again next year. I really like Haynos and hope he develops well this year and P. Cobbs has shown flashes of talent as well. We don't know what we have in Lex Hilliard yet and I think Chris Brown is just a body until the next round of cuts. (I still think C. Brown goes to camp.) that sound like a movie. Ernest goes to camp. (which is too bad, because Ernest shouldn't go to camp. He should have been cut last year, cap hit or no cap hit.)

  10. IMO, Kimble won't be released, they need 5 running backs in camp. He is
    also a practice squad nominee.

  11. I didn't see Ernest goes to camp, but I remember Ernest goes to Jail...

I agree that Ernest should not go to camp but the money that goes along with him is just to high to not give him a chance. I believe that he will be the final release to get down to 53. If Hanos could develop in camp and establish himself as a situational player we could have a great redzone target to go along with Turner.
