Training Camps open elsewhere

The Buffalo Bills opened the first training camp practices of the 2009 year, and fans were excited. One young fan yelled out to Terrell Owens that he had his name tattooed on his butt. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm into tattoos, myself, but I wonder about the ethics violation that may have been committed by the tattoo artist when this obviously deluded fan came into the parlor. That wasn't even the weirdest part of the practices this weekend. The weirdest part to me was that none of them were in pads, and only one of them even involved helmets. I'm no training camp expert, havingnever been to one, but even in Davie during OTAs/mini-camp, they wear helmets at all times on the field. On Hard Knocks, some coach is always screaming at a player for not having his chin strap secure. So I find it odd that Buffalo is running their training camp without pads and without helmets. It's basically flag football at that point isn't it? They already had one player go down to a probably season-ending injury on the first day. They also had to deal with two rookies holding out, and the fact that Terrell Owens is still homeless. Apparently no one will rent a house to him.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles also opened camp over the weekend, and their first round draft choice, WR Jeremy Maclin, did not even show up for check-in at the team's hotel or for today's practice.

Next up on the schedule is Baltimore, who opens camp today, with Ray Lewis chasing down John Beck by the weekend.

Miami's training camp will officially open on Saturday, with the first practice on Sunday the 2nd.

Meanwhile, the Palm Beach Post did a blog on the possibility of Vonnie Holliday returning to the Dolphins a couple of days after the Tins Fins poll concluded that the 70% of dolfans thought signing Holliday might be a good idea. With less than a week now till training camp, the article suggested that Vonnie would not be looked at until 'several weeks into camp'. In my mind, the longer they leave him out there on his own, the less likely they'd be to bring him in. I'm sure they would rather have him in camp, in their program.

So what do you guys think of the training camp issues so far and what are your fantasy projected issues for our division rivals in training camp? Mine is that Tom Brady gets bitten by Michael Vick's dog...

That it turns out Vernon Ghoston is the smartest player on the stej. And the coach eats one of the tackling dummies as a snack.

I think the trifecta would like to see how the DL looks for a week or so before making any decisions on signing a veteran like Vonnie.

If Langford continues to show progress in his game, if Merling is showing what they need to see from him that made them release Vonnie in the first place, and McDaniel and Dotson look good, we're going to stick with the younger DL. I wonder if Rodrique Wright has what it takes to be in the mix this year? We know Starks is going to play significant time in the rotation.

    Tin
Where is a safe reputable online betting site to take Dolphins in winning more than 7 games all season?

How much is the fee to place the bet?

If u bet $ 5000.  How much do u win?

    Is it legal and guaranteed?

My opinion on Plax has been solely based on reports I've been hearing and it hasn't looked good for him for quite some time. NY, NJ and many other states are sick and tired of irresponsible behavior involving guns. They are coming down hard on gun crimes which they should.

As for Michael Vick it looks like he could be re-instated and play in the NFL this year. At least Vick paid the price for his crimes. He might be suspended for the first 3 or 4 games but he could play in 09. I didn't think Goodell would allow him to play this year.

  10. *They said from day one that Plaxico would have to do time, the law he broke
calls for a mandatory prison sentence, not probation. We've known about
    this for...how long has it been...8 months? 7? *

Vonnie isn't going to get a big contract from any team. At 33 years old and entering his 12th season he could still get a job playing in the NFL but it would likely be a one year deal for not much more than the veteran minimum. It's up to him whether he wants to play for that kind of money. I would think he wouldn't but who knows. If a team gets an injury to one or more of their D-linemen they may see a higher value with Vonnie.

You're right about that, Tin. That is why the Giants cut ties with him so early on in this thing.

What is the so called "MANDATORY PRISON SENTENCE"?

    Exactly what is it?

Never heard anyone mention exact number as for they are just making up crap

PLAX did not intend to or commit felony with gun

He wasn`t trying to rob someone/some place or murder someone

He was just too stupid to register gun and get a concealed weapons permit
Hundreds and thousands of us Floridians have a concealed weapons permit

As long as your not a convicted felon or have serious documented mental illness U can easily
get one and carry the weapon  concealed on U almost anywhere within reason in the state of Florida

U simply take small gun safety course and pay the state a fee

The guy shot himself by accident for God sake

PLAX is stupid and it would do everyone better if he did mandatory seminars with law enforcement and NRA gun safety instructors and put him on probation and had him pay fines

Plax could stop thousands of youths and wanna be gang bangas from wielding illegally carried guns with several years of educating the ghetto kids  who simply dont realize how serious this is (no offense ghetto kids)

Put him in prison for what?
    He accidently shot himself
    What good would prison do?

Tell me NY lawyer what is the mandatory prison sentence for PLAX?
How come they "OFFERED" him 2 years? 1st "OFFER

    ps
Elliot Spitzer is a fraud and a criminal

  14. Home, he isn't charged with shooting himself, he's charged with unlawful
possession of a firearm, which carries a mandatory prison sentence in New
York. I don't know why you keep arguing this point. I did not make this
up, it's a well-known fact! It's completely irrelevant to compare it to
Florida because it happened in NYC. That is the law there. I'm not making
this up. If you have issue with it, take it up with the New York Supreme
    Court!

  15. Home-

NY has much stricter rules regarding guns.  Especially a gun going off in a public place at the hands of a "celeb".  They are going to make an example out of him.  If he was willing to serve a year and the prosecution balked at that it makes me think they aren't giving much leeway here.  He will serve time.

    LOL

Home, you have to be licensed to carry a concealed weapon in New York and Plaxico was not. That's a crime in New York and should be in every state.

  17. I don't know where you live, but if it's in Florida you can try one of the day cruse ships.  I know the Palm Beach Princess has a sports book because I've placed a bet there myself for $20.00.  That was the minimum amount you could bet at that time.

Do it legally! Anyone who knows how to handle a gun should not be shooting themselves in a night club. Plax has always been a bit immature. Obviously that hasn't changed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. From what I know, and the last time I checked you can't carry or own a weapon in NY/NJ at least as far as a hand gun goes  If one has a concealed weapons permit in Florida it is not honored in NY/NJ.  So Plax couldn't even own a hand gun in that State, and that is why he is looking at jail time.

I thought he had worked out a deal with the DA up there from what the media reported. I guess I was wrong.

    Think your right Fang
No concealed weapons unless in law enforcement up north

State gun laws are different in each one

Florida and Texas allow a person to defend himself with concealed gun
better than telling criminal to STOP or else....... I`ll say STOP again
