Detroit meet Gadsden, Gadsden meet Detroit!

Former Miami Dolphin, Oronde Gadsden (coulda used him last year) apparently owns the CFL or something and wants to open a franchise in Detroit? I think they should just convert the Lions into the CFL. They'd have to change their name of course...

  1. Speaking of big WRs who were not highly recruited in the NFL.

Brandon London could be a sleeper. At 6-4 214 4.55 speed and a 38" vertical, the frame to get bigger, a good athlete and a physical player, this kid has an upside. You never know. If he works hard with his offseason conditioning and develops his WR skills, he could make an impact. in 09.

This will be his 3rd year. His overall stats are pedestrian but we didn't call his number a lot. He did have 4-38 in the Baltimore playoff game. Maybe that's a sign the trifecta likes what they see in him. He has shown decent hands. I think he needs to work on his overall technique as a WR. The talent is there.

London is that big WR we need. The red zone target, the guy who has the size, toughness and jumping ability to fight for the ball. He does play tough on special teams. Can he translate that into being a good WR. Maybe we already have that big WR.

I like how this website compares him to Larry Fitzgerald. : )

  2. "What NFL player do you do you think you compare favorably to?
    Brandon London: Larry Fitzgerald."

LOL, and since we're asking, I compare favorably to steve sargent.

  3. Tinshaker,
I'm not usually a nitpicker, but you have mis-spelled his name THREE times. You even have a photo with his name clearly on it!! Sheesh!! LOL

  4. Funny I was editing it when you commented, lol. Sorry. Actually they spelled his name wrong on the jersey...it was his first pre-season out of the AFL...and..oh nevermind, I messed up!

  5. I just figured you were using Omar's proofreader, since they don't have much to do lately.

  6. I used to BE Omar's proofreader! lol. I'm embarrassed I misspelled Gadsden but between Omar's blog and the other two papers who combined today had at least 10 errors, I'm not feeling too bad about it. Especially since I write an entry in between doing my job, whereas for them it is their job. But with the economy the way it is, no one can afford proof-readers anyway.

I remember Omar saying a couple of months back that his 'partner in crime' had been sacked by the SS. Never got the full story on that.

  9. Gadsden was the man! I'm confused by the article though. Is he trying to buy a franchise? Does he have that kind of money? Also odd that he wants the team to be in US cities that already have NFL teams - the Lions and the Bills. Especially since the Bills are trying to move to Canada. So what's going to happen - the Bills move to Toronto and the CFL moves to Buffalo? Seems to me it would be better to keep the NFL team in the US and add a second CFL team to Toronto. But that's just me.
